VERIS Assessment

Scored Skills Assessments, Independent of Screening and Interviews

An optional stage that sends candidates an AI-generated skills test tailored to the job, then hands recruiters a scored, reviewable result — usable on its own or alongside the rest of the hiring workflow.

Optional workflow stage

Recruiter-controlled skills testing

Set a title, duration, passing score, and difficulty, and VERIS generates a question set from the job itself. Recruiters review, edit, or add questions before publishing and sending it to a candidate.

  • Optional stage — usable on its own, before an interview, or skipped entirely; not sequenced with VERIS Screening
  • AI-generated, recruiter-reviewed questions — single-choice, multi-select, short-answer, scenario, and coding questions built from the job's title, description, and core skills
  • Automatic grading — objective questions scored by exact match, short-answer and scenario responses graded against an AI-generated rubric, and coding questions graded by running the candidate's code against test cases
  • Coding questions run in an in-browser code editor when a role has coding enabled — candidates write real, executable code, no separate tooling required

When to use it

Assessment Is Optional Because Not Every Role Needs a Test

Turn it on where a scored skills baseline saves recruiter time. Skip it, or pair it with Screening and interviews, however a role calls for it.

Skills-heavy roles

When a role depends on a specific, verifiable skill set, VERIS Assessment gives every candidate the same scored baseline before a recruiter spends interview time on them.

High-volume pipelines

Score every candidate against the same rubric, then let recruiters review results instead of reading resumes to decide who gets a conversation.

Standalone or alongside interviews

Send an assessment link directly to a candidate — it doesn't require VERIS Screening or the AI Interview to have run first, or to run after.

Pair it with VERIS Screening or go straight to the AI Interview — the recruiter decides what a role needs.
